Patch 10.12.1

23 Décembre 2016

Lords and Ladies!

Even Praia is touched by the approaching New Year! Snowmen have appeared in the Borderlands, and Kitton's hole is covered in snow and gifts! It's beginning to look a lot like the winter holidays are coming to Praia!

New Year!

The changes aren't just cosmetic, either: everyone's favorite snowballs are back in stores! By popular demand, snowballs are weaker this time around, to keep them from seriously impacting gameplay.

Snowball

  • It costs 50 Prime;
  • It strikes the first hero that gets in its way;
  • This blinds the enemy for 1.5 seconds, and if he was already under this effect, the enemy will be stunned for one second;
  • If the Snowball strikes an ally, it restores 50 health and removes a negative effect;
  • Cooldown: 30 sec.;
  • This is not a single-use item. Buy it once, and snowballs can be used throughout the battle.

The holidays have left their mark on castles, too. All of the castles' lords and ladies now have their own Christmas trees! And these are no ordinary trees – they produce gifts! Every 8 hours, 4 Prime Crystals (or 8 Crystals with the Golden Age) will appear under the Christmas tree! Don't forget to collect your gifts in time, since more crystals will only be added if the space under the tree is empty. Also, snow has been added to the clan wars map.

New Hero

Raven has denied her ancestors and expunged all of the happiness, compassion, and love from her heart. Now she has arrived in Praia! Soon she will be ready to enter the service of the lord that promises her a reasonable price. She will offer her strength in exchange – and believe me, there will be no trace of the angelic being of the past! Raven is so cruel to those nearby that one enemy isn’t enough for her. To really unlock her potential, dance around the battlefield, moving through enemies and always attacking different targets. You can read more about this new hero here.

The new hero Raven will be available for purchase from tomorrow, December 23d.

Please give her some time to clean the feathers.

New Talents

As we mentioned in the update announcement, 10.12.1 brings new legendary talents to the game. The Absolute Ax, “touch” for mage heroes, and more.

Explosive Illusion

The name of this one speaks for itself. This set creates an exact copy of the hero using it. The copy pursues the nearest enemy and explodes on contact. But we already saw this three years back, in the Halloween talent Deathly Phantom. But unlike the scarlet phantom, this illusion can only be distinguished from the hero by its health bar, making it usable as a diversion. Also, the upgraded version of this illusion consumes the victims' available Prime at the moment of contact.

Explosive Illusion

  • Required grade: III;
  • Prime cost to learn: 675;
  • Cooldown: 150 seconds;
  • Creates a copy of the hero that runs towards the nearest enemy for about 3 seconds. If the copy contacts the enemy, it deals 260 (340) magic damage.
  • Can be upgraded by the three talents from the Explosive Illusion set.

Illusion of Perception

  • Required grade: II;
  • Prime cost to learn: 500;
  • Increases Intellect by 7.2 (9.6);
  • At the moment of contact, consumes 100 Prime from all affected enemies. This talent consumes a maximum of 600 Prime.

Illusion of Fame

  • Required grade: II;
  • Prime cost to learn: 500;
  • Increases Strength by 7.2 (9.6);
  • At the moment of contact, consumes 100 Prime from all affected enemies. This talent consumes a maximum of 600 Prime.

Illusion of Victory

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Increases Cunning by 7.1 (11.5);
  • Reduces ability cooldown time by 6%;
  • The Explosive Illusion talent deals 120 (160) more damage.

Illusion of Might

  • Required grade: VI;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1600;
  • Increases Cunning by 15.2 (20);
  • Increases Health by 300 (404);
  • The Explosive Illusion talent deals 120 (160) more damage.

Treacherous Flame

This cousin of Battle Ecstasy also deals damage over time – dealt not by the hero with the talent but by the targeted enemy. Perfect for sowing trouble in the enemy ranks and separating them from each other. Upgrading this talent only increases how dangerous it is for enemies. They'll do everything they can to get away from the source of the conflagration!

Treacherous Flame

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Cooldown: 150 seconds;
  • Casts 0.4 seconds. Over 10 seconds, the targeted enemy deals 31 (40) magic damage per second to all nearby enemies;
  • Can be upgraded by the three talents from the Treacherous Flame set.

Flame of Discord

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Increases Intellect by 12.5 (16.5);
  • The area of effect of the Treacherous Flame talent is increased. The Treacherous Flame talent deals an additional 15 (18) points of magic damage.

Flame of Chaos

  • Required grade: V;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1160;
  • Increases Cunning by 10 (12.8);
  • Increases Stamina or Will (whichever is greater) by 9 (11.8);
  • The Treacherous Flame talent deals an additional 50% damage to all enemies near the target each time the target attacks

Flame of Reconciliation

  • Required grade: V;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1160;
  • Increases Cunning by 10 (12.8);
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 9 (11.8);
  • The Treacherous Flame talent reduces the target's attack damage by an additional 20 points.

Flame of Decay

  • Required grade: VI;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1600;
  • Increases Cunning by 15.2 (20);
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 12 (15.6);
  • The Treacherous Flame talent deals an additional 26 points of magic damage.

Absolute Dominance

The height of advancement in axes, Absolute Dominance increases the dynamics of Prime collection – as long as certain conditions are met. The base talent is not much different from its younger cousins and has the same cap of 800 Prime. The talent's upgrades raise this ceiling – but not without fulfilling certain conditions. Note that Prime provided by meeting these conditions affects the talent's main Prime “counter.” A fully completed set will have a max cap of 1800 Prime.

Absolute Dominance

  • Required grade: I;
  • Prime cost to learn: 350;
  • The hero’s attack hits Soldiers and Touched with an additional 15 points of physical damage. After killing them, the hero receives 7 Prime. This Prime intake stops once it has provided 800 Prime. Only one Dominance talent activates.
  • Can be upgraded by the three talents from the Absolute Dominance set.

Greedy Dominance

  • Required grade: II;
  • Prime cost to learn: 500;
  • Increases Energy Regeneration by 4 (5.2);
  • The maximum Prime intake from the Absolute Dominance talent is increased by 400.

Mental Dominance

  • Required grade: III;
  • Prime cost to learn: 675;
  • Increases Intellect by 10 (13.2);
  • The Absolute Dominance talent gives 300 Prime once the hero kills 30 Soldiers or Touched. The maximum Prime intake from the Absolute Dominance talent is increased by 300.

Strength Dominance

  • Required grade: III;
  • Prime cost to learn: 675;
  • Increases Strength by 10 (13.2);
  • The Absolute Dominance talent gives 300 Prime once the hero kills 30 Soldiers or Touched. The maximum Prime intake from the Absolute Dominance talent is increased by 300.

Fury Dominance

  • Required grade: III;
  • Prime cost to learn: 675;
  • Cooldown: 60 seconds;
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 10 (13.2);
  • Deals 550 damage to Soldiers and Touched. If the victim dies, the hero receives 85 Prime from the Absolute Dominance talent. The maximum Prime intake from the Absolute Dominance talent is increased by 300.

Forest Symbol

In simple terms, this is the analogue of Deathtouch for mage heroes. Each time this ability hits an enemy, it gives him an effect that over 3 seconds deals as much damage as 2.5 “touch” attacks. Upgrades keep the original effect in the forefront, providing a percentage damage bonus for abilities. Very useful for mages!

Forest Symbol

  • Required grade: II;
  • Prime cost to learn: 500;
  • Any victim who takes damage from a class ability takes an additional 10 (13) magic damage per second for 3 seconds;
  • Can be upgraded by the three talents from the Forest Symbol set.

Forest Might

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 7 (9);
  • Increases Cunning by 6 (8);
  • The Forest Symbol talent deals an additional 9 points of magic damage per second.

Forest Dominance

  • Required grade: V;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1160;
  • Increases Cunning by 10 (12.8);
  • Increases Resistance by 9 (11.8);
  • The Forest Symbol talent additionally reduces the target’s Stamina or Will (whichever is greater) by 16.

Forest Harmony

  • Required grade: V;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1160;
  • Increases Cunning by 10 (12.8);
  • Increases Will by 9 (11.8);
  • The Forest Symbol talent increases the hero’s Health Regeneration by 13.5, if at least one enemy is under the effect of the Forest Symbol talent.

Forest Power

  • Required grade: VI;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1600;
  • Increases Cunning by 15.2 (20);
  • Increases Stamina or Will (whichever is greater) by 12 (15.6);
  • The Forest Symbol deals an additional 2% class ability damage per second.

Cry of Doom

A defensive set meant to keep an opponent from using abilities. And if they manage to use them, they will deal minimal damage. At its highest end, this set can blind and “silence” the opponent. This silencing will be very useful for opponents designed to combo skills: Faceless, Assassin, Meijin, Sorcerer, Artiste, Vampire, Tu’Rehu. Also, each upgrade increases the base talent’s duration, so the longer the game goes, the more limited the target’s actions will be – after all, the game’s pace is speeding up at the same time.

Cry of Doom

  • Required grade: III;
  • Prime cost to learn: 675;
  • Cooldown: 150 seconds;
  • If the talent’s target uses an ability within 3 seconds, that target takes 310 (410) magic damage;
  • Can be upgraded by the three talents from the Cry of Doom set.

Blinding Cry

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Increases Cunning by 12.5 (16.5);
  • Also blinds the target for 3 seconds if they are damaged by the base talent;
  • Increases the duration of the Cry of Doom talent by 1 sec.

Deafening Cry

  • Required grade: IV;
  • Prime cost to learn: 825;
  • Increases Agility by 12.5 (16.5);
  • Also prevents the target from using abilities for 2.5 seconds if they are damaged by the base talent;
  • Increases the duration of the Cry of Doom talent by 1 sec.

Intolerable Cry

  • Required grade: V;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1160;
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 9 (11.8);
  • Increases Agility by 10 (12.8);
  • The Cry of Doom talent deals 210 (270) more damage;
  • Increases the duration of the Cry of Doom talent by 1 sec.

Oppressive Cry

  • Required grade: VI;
  • Prime cost to learn: 1600;
  • Increases Strength or Intellect (whichever is greater) by 15.2 (20);
  • Increases Health by 300 (404);
  • Also increases the cooldown time of the target’s abilities by 14 seconds if the target is damaged by the Cry of Doom talent;
  • Increases the duration of the Cry of Doom talent by 2 sec.

Heroes

Prince of Thieves / Duelist

The Prince is currently at the top of the metagame: good in the early game thanks to his base abilities being decently strong, and prospering in the late game thanks to his high damage and above-average protection. We should note that Highlander and Combat have this great late-game effectiveness too – but not such a good start. The Prince can also maintain good momentum both in a lane and in the forest.

This is overpowered, so we’re weakening the Prince’s stun in the early game and blinding in the late game.

Unfair Fight

  • Stun time reduced from 2 seconds to 1.
  • Blinding time of Detonating Mixture reduced from 4 seconds to 3.

Witch Doctor / Woodsman

The boost we gave to trees’ defense was in practice shown to be a bit too much. We’ve now reduced their defense by about 10%. This reduces the last update’s boost to about 35%.

Wicked Tree

  • Reduced the increase in protection granted from the Tree Fertilizer by about 10%

Shadow / Whisp

As you know, attack targets are selected automatically – but there is one hero whose class abilities are severely hindered by this: the tiny Whisp. The mechanic interferes with this heroine’s class passive.

So we’ve disabled automatic target selection for Whisp. The player now must click on a target to attack.

Shadow Cover

  • Now, when this ability is inactive (the heroine is visible), attack targets will not be automatically selected.

Tearaway

A complex mechanic has this girl weeping sadly at the very edge of the metagame. We’re going to implement some mild power-ups and keep an active eye on Tearaway as the game goes on.

  • This talent’s Stamina boost power has been increased by 35%

Milkshake

  • Damaged absorbed by the Whipped Cream upgrade has been increased from 30% to 35%

S.Putnik

In true communist fashion, the faithful S.Putnik’s Bear Comrade has whacked each and every comer. Many of you need to have better control over your pet! (If you can call a two-ton bear a pet, that is.) We’re updating our comrade so he has a more... modern relationship with opponents.

Also, we’ve fixed an issue where S.Putnik would not attack a marked target if the command to attack was given before the enemy was marked.

Frontline Comrade

  • Refined the logic followed by the bear when protecting an area. Now he will not attack a nearby soldier even if that soldier is attacking him.
  • Now the Weighty Argument upgrade strengthens the Bear Comrade’s attack only in the following cases:
    1. If he’s sent to attack a specific hero, then the strengthened attack will hit that particular hero.
    2. If he’s sent to protect an area, the strengthened attack will hit the enemy hero nearest him.
    3. If he’s bound to S.Putnik, the strengthened attack will hit the enemy hero nearest him.

Border Guard

  • Now traps with the Steel Might upgrade knock opponents out of invisibility and forbid them from becoming invisible again for the length of the subsequent slowdown time (4 seconds).

Talents

Demolition Mania

Demolition Mania never became popular, even though it was very, very strong when wielded by certain heroes. With this rebalancing, we’ve tried to make this set useful for a larger number of heroes – and simultaneously reduce its strength for others (for example, Wanderer). But we’ve preserved the essence of the set – use not on a single target, but on a crowd.

Demolition Mania

  • Ability cooldown time increased from 40 to 80 seconds
  • The target now explodes not only just after death but also when the ability timer expires.

Explosive Perseverance

  • Now spreads the Demolition Mania effect to the 2 nearest targets, not to all targets (as before). These targets explode immediately, not after death.

Explosive Domination

  • Reduced the increase in resurrection time for an enemy hero killed under the Demolition Mania effect from 50% to 30%

Inherited Talismanг

In and of itself, this talisman was quite good. It and the Talisman of Stealth can often be seen on delicate characters without their own escape abilities. It’s a shame the rest of the upgrades here have been ignored! Now, with the Talisman of Health upgrade, repeated use of a shield (or even invisibility) is easier.

Talisman of Life

  • From here on, the parentheses indicate values the talent has when fully upgraded
    Damage absorbed by the shield upgraded from 220 (265) to 260 (320).

Talisman of Health

  • Increased the reduction in the base talent’s cooldown time when an allied hero takes damage from 1.5 to 2 seconds.

Other

  • Fixed known cases where the Berserker’s chains on enemy heroes would simply not work.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented damage from the Curse of Curses if the hero died during the talent’s animation.
  • Fixed a bug where Advantage and all of its prototypes would stop giving extra Prime when the hero learned the Battle Ecstasy or Flowing Fury talents.
  • Fixed issue with the Dark Lord portrait on the loading screen. Changed the attack sounds to better fit his appearance.

Known Issues

  • In rare cases, some players may experience crashes during the game session. This mistake is connected with a bug in the S. Putnik behaviour.
  • To prevent further crashes, we have tomporary blocked this hero for all players. When the problem is fixed, S. Putnik will join the ranks — we hope that this will occur on December 27th.
